Keepers at Home-Time Management, Procrastination and Idleness

Proverbs 6:6-8 Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise:

Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler,

Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest.

Ecclesiastes 9:10 Whatsoever thy hand findeth to do, do it with thy might; for there is no work, nor device, nor knowledge, nor wisdom, in the grave, whither thou goest.

What is time management?

Time management is the process of organizing and planning how to divide your time between different activities

Tips for improving time management

Do a time check, to see what you are spending most of your time on.

2. Stick to a daily schedule.

Create realistic or reasonable timelines to complete each task or activity.

3. Prioritize tasks by creating a to-do list.

Reason why procrastination happens.

  • Not knowing what needs to be done
  • Not knowing how to do something
  • Not wanting to do something
  • Not caring if it gets done or not
  • Not caring when something gets done
  • Not feeling in the mood to do it
  • Being in the habit of waiting until the last minute
  • Believing that you work better under pressure
  • Thinking that you can finish it at the last minute
  • Lacking the initiative to get started
  • Forgetting
  • Blaming sickness or poor health
  • Waiting for the right moment
  • Needing time to think about the task

Tips to avoid procrastination

1. Admit that you’re procrastinating.

The first step to overcoming procrastination is to admit that you are avoiding the tasks that you are supposed to be doing. After you recognize which procrastination problem you’re experiencing, you will hopefully have the right mindset to be more productive.
