DO IT YOURSELF-OLIVE BREAD

Reasons for making your own bread at home:-

  1. It tastes way better.
  2. It’s CONSIDERABLY cheaper.
  3. You can customize your bread and have full control of the ingredients.
  4. That means your homemade bread will be preservative free!
  5. You can have fresh bread when you need it-no more wasting store bought bread. Plus you won’t be wasting the packaging that store bought bread comes in.
  6. It takes almost no time at all.
  7. Making your own bread can be considered a fun hobby!
  8. If you choose to knead your own bread this can be a form of meditative repetition-leading to stress relief.
  9. You can create special loaves for friends and family as gifts.
  10. You can reconnect with your roots.

No knead olive bread.

 Ingredients

🔸500g self raising flour 

🔸250ml water 

🔸8g dry yeast 

🔸120ml olive oil 

🔸1 tsp sugar 

🔸1 tsp salt 

🔸120g kalamata olives 

🔸oregano 

1️⃣ In a bowl, add the water, yeast, oil, sugar and flour, and mix them well (approx 5 minutes). 2️⃣ Add the olives and mix lightly until they are incorporated to the dough. 

3️⃣ Grease the dough with olive oil and cover the bowl with a kitchen towel, allowing it to rest for 1 hour. 

4️⃣ Divide the dough in two pieces and transfer it in two greased loaf tins.

 5️⃣ Sprinkle some oregano on the top and bake in a preheated oven for 45-50 minutes at 180ºC (350ºF).

Ingredients

500 grams sifted wheat flour Salt 

1 teaspoon Sugar 

1 teaspoon Yeast 

1/4 teaspoon Chili flakes 

1-1,5 teaspoon Dry thyme 

1 teaspoon 180 grams pitted olives (90 green, 90 black) 

Warm water 360 ml 

Roofing overnight (8-12 hours) 

You can use a non-stick baking casserole pan. Bake 200°C (392°F) 30 minutes in a saucepan with lid and 25-30 minutes without the lid.
